Jan 29, 2005 - Day 207 in Mandalay, Myanmar (Burma)

All we did today was travel. We went from Bangkok to Yangon and then waited for five hours in Yangon for the next flight. The next flight landed us in Mandalay at around 7 pm. Mandalay is former capital of Myanmar. It has a romantic appeal to it because many great writers have referenced it (ie: the long road to Mandalay). For dinner we went to a very local restaurant where we were served by 7 year old boys some Indian food. The food was excellent but they thought we were really strange – especially when we left a tip which apparently does not make sense to locals.
