We drove all day from Goa to Kannanur, changing cars and drivers in Mangalore. The road was National Highway 14, otherwise known as the ‘Sapphire Route’. It was along the coast, winding along the sea and mountains. Everywhere you looked there were palm trees… very picturesque. Total driving time was around 12 hours.
