Charles writes: Bangalore, the silicon valley of India, does measure up to the legend. The city is cleaner and seemingly better managed than similar sized cities in India. All the billboards touted technology companies or were technology related. We did some last minute Indian shopping in the main shopping district. There are a lot of shopkeepers from the Kashmir area. They fled Kasmir in the last five years because of the conflict between Pakistan and India. They all describe Kasmir as “paradise” or “heaven on earth”. One of these days I need to make to Kashmir and see for myself firsthand what all the fuss is about.
