- Day 244 in Singapore Sarah writes: We woke up early for Charles appointment with a throat doctor here in Singapore. In true Singapore fashion, the hospital provided ample shopping opportunities, had a Starbucks, and even a used book store. Charles saw one of the best throat doctors in Asia ... Dr. Paul Mok. The doctor made a video of Charles’ throat saying that he is doing ok. There are some promising new cell regeneration projects in Japan that could help him.
In the afternoon we took a bus to Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. After a bit of a squabble about which magazines to buy for this 5 hour bus ride (since mags are $10/piece) we settled on Maxim for the comics and articles and hit the road. This time I am not messing around when it comes to bus travel. I’ve got a mask, earplugs, an inflatable neck pillow and wrist bands for car-sickness. With all my accoutrements I am sure I looked as high-maintenance as Ja Ja Gabore.
