Day — Charles & Sarah in ! |
|
Mar 28, 2005 - Day 265 in Yangzee River, China The boat docked at 3am and we were notified by a wake up call in the form of a knock on the door. I was in that ¡°it¡¯s-the-middle-of-the-night¡± mood and therefore greated our tour guide with ¡°What are you doing here?¡± They let us sleep until 5:30 but then we had to shuffle off the boat and onto a (supposed 3 hour) bus to Wuhan. Our friend Paula had come down with a retched stomach bug and therefore sat in the front of the bus where an overweight Chinese man kept falling asleep on her drooling and snoring loud enough to make the whole bus giggle. Charles and Laura sat in the back of the bus where a piece of plywood acted as a seat-back. Charles made friends with one Chinese man by pointing to sentences in Chinese in the glossary of our guide book. He learned that the man ¡°is from China¡±, he ¡°works for a company¡± and he is not a ¡°vegetarian/Buddhist monk¡±. They got very close. Speaking of food, we thought we would use this day to display some food photos for friends eager to learn more about authentic Chinese food. Some pig snouts, cow tongue, baby chickens, scorpions or grasshoppers anyone?
