Apr 12, 2005 - Day 280 in Kyoto, Japan

Oddly enough we slept quite well on the grass mats in the guesthouse. To save money we became intimately familiar with the public bus system in Kyoto which was very easy to navigate. We started off our day with another walking tour which took us to more temples and some beautiful cobblestone shopping streets. After a few hours of walking we ended up sitting in a park under the cherry blossom trees for two hours talking about family and other important life-things. Before catching our overnight bus to Tokyo we had to have another full-on sushi meal. We were even more adventurous in our ordering since we were confident that they would not serve a piece of fish we did not like – and we were right. We looked around to spot more Geisha but to no avail. It only made us feel all the more fortunate for having seen them the night before.
