Apr 26, 2005 - Day 294 in Brisbane, Australia

We took a short bus to Brisbane. While there we did a walking tour through this city which is quite cosmopolitan though we have been told it is a tad conservative. The walk took us past some interesting architectural buildings and a man-made lagoon which seems to be a trend among eastern cities in Australia. One half of the lagoon is beach and the other half is like a pool. Locals and tourists prefer these spots for swimming because of the number of shark attacks they have each year (not to mention jelly-fish attacks which is the root of my phobia). Brisbane is the Baltimore of Australia.
